Hi there! I’m Ángela Formatché and right now I’m in my last year of a Human Nutrition and Dietetics Degree.
Someone once told me the human being is like a three-legged stool; soul, spirit, and physical body. I’ve “translated” those three into heart, mind and guts. Yes, I know, they aren’t equivalent to each other, we can enter that hot topic another day.
I believe the heart is where our deepest desires exist, our principal moral compass. Our mind works as part of our moral compass too, but the heart makes us what we are. Each heartbeat gives us life, the opportunity to use our mind and body, to accomplish the heart’s desires or not. That’s the question in my mind most days, to do it or not. For me, the heart is where the art comes from and I like to think of myself as an artist. That means that most of the heart portion of the blog will be about art. I would love to see your advice about my art when I’m brave enough to post it.
Next in our three legs, is the mind, the computer that controls what we usually do at the end. Here we can think about what is above, mind or heart. I don’t know which one it is, maybe it changes daily. Some days, you give the reins to your heart more than you should and others less than you should. What is the perfect tension for those reins? In the mind part of the blog, I would like to tackle topics like what is daydreaming and how much we do it, MBTI types, etc.
Last but not least, the physical body, until recently was the only thing that we considered “un/healthy”. It’s the easiest one of the three to diagnose, as most of its indicators are objective, unlike those from the heart or mind. As a nearly graduated in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, this is the one I feel comfortable talking about and will mean most of this blog.
With this, I end this post, hoping you will join me on my blogger journey.

Nutrition for optimal health
Nutrition in Seniors
When, as humans, get to the senescence of our lives, we are full of afflictions. Dormant deficiencies and illness appear from apparently nowhere. In most cases, nutrition doesn’t present a solution, it presents ways to slow down the disease’s progress. You can’t revert it, but you can improve quality of life and time just by eating better and, in some cases, by taking supplements
Nutrition in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy and lactation or breastfeeding are really important moments for mother and child. In pregnancy, the child’s body is configured for the rest of his/her life. In both moments the mother is nurturing the child from her body, which means she will need to have more nutrients. If a mother is missing nutrients she will probably suffer deficiencies later in her life such as osteoporosis or anaemia.
Sports Nutrition
Maintaining good nutrition is always important but sports nutrition is essential as it reflects in performance. It helps to achieve your goals easier and usually faster.
